Astro, Malaysia’s leading content and entertainment company, will premiere Thural – another compelling family drama that uncovers hidden dynamics and unspoken truths within the family – on 13 May. Fans of family dramas can tune in to the series, with new episodes airing every Monday to Thursday at 9.30pm on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202) across TV, Astro GO, On Demand, and Sooka.
Thural centres around Lakshmi, a career-driven woman juggling professional demands with caregiving responsibilities. As she plans to marry off her son, Arjun, Lakshmi hopes her future daughter‑in‑law will support her in caring for the family. A chance encounter with Sandhya, who devotedly looks after her disabled brother, convinces Lakshmi that she is the ideal match for Arjun. However, Sandhya’s presence threatens Geetha, a private nurse assisting Lakshmi, prompting her to plot a series of schemes to turn the family against Sandhya.
As the emotional toll on Sandhya deepens, she begins to question her decision to stay in the marriage and contemplates divorce, unfolding a story of love, sacrifice and deeply rooted family struggles. Directed by C. Kumaresan, the series ultimately hinges on whether Sandhya will fight to save her marriage or choose to leave it behind.
Thural features a cast of debut and established local artistes, including Preetha Prasad, Thevaguru, and Pashini Sivakumar. New episodes air every Monday to Thursday at 9.30pm on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202) via TV, Astro GO, On Demand and Sooka.
