Heavy downpours for the past two weeks in Chennai and several other parts of South India have caused heavy waterlogging, floods and disruption in the power supply. At least 14 fatalities have been reported due to this in the city.

Legendary actor cum politician Kamal Haasan is among the celebrities who went on floors to help the flood victims during this difficult time. The actor visited several flood-hit areas with his Makkal Neethi Maiyam party members to distribute food and other relief materials to the residents.

In his social media post, the actor revealed that his team visited Thanthai Periyar Nagar and Shastri Nagar in Taramani, Dr Ambedkar Nagar in Velachery, Gandi Road and Vadivel Puram In West Mambalam to monitor the situation and offer help to the victims. Check out his post here:
