Actor Prashant ruled the South Indian cinema in the 90s when he was deemed more popular than the then-emerging actors Vijay and Ajith. He is the son of the famous veteran actor cum director Thyagarajan and gave back-to-back hit movies, on par with Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.

Despite his popularity, the actor stopped focusing on his career after going through a bad marriage. Now actor Prashant is all set to make a comeback via his upcoming movie 'Andhagan' starring popular stars such as Karthik, Simran, Vanitha Vijayakumar, Priya Anand, and Yogi Babu - to be directed by his dad Thyagarajan.

On the personal front, Prashant was married to Grihalakshmi in the year 2005 and became a victim of a bad marriage. While the couple had their first child in 2006, Prashant filed for divorce after receiving an anonymous call about his wife's first marriage. The matter became worst when Grihalakshmi denied her first marriage and filed for a dowry harassment case against the actor.

The divorce, however, favoured Prashant when Grihalakshmi's first marriage was proven with evidence, and suppressing the information was considered as a fraud. The court granted divorce to the couple in 2009, but Grihalakshmi challenged the decision in High Court, which again favoured the actor in 2011.

The actor's bad marriage has cost him his successful movie career, and the actor remained unmarried till now. However, speculations are now making rounds that the actor is all set to remarry again at the age of 49 and the official announcement will be made after the release of his highly anticipated comeback movie 'Andhagan'.
