Paapanasam is a famous multi-language movie which was released in 2015.

The movie starring Kamal Haasan, Gauthami and Nivetha Thomas in the lead roles, revolves around a father who tries hard to protect his wife and daughter who committed murder for self-defence.

In a recent interview, the moviemakers revealed that Kamal Haasan wasn't the first choice to play the lead role in the movie, but it was Rajinikanth who was in their mind at first.

However, after sometime the movie makers decided that Kamal Haasan suit the character better compared to Rajinikanth and approached him to play the lead role.
