Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

This comes after both her parents were diagnosed with the coronavirus in late August.

According to, the 30-year-old actress felt unwell and was displaying symptoms while shooting for a web series in Hyderabad and was taken to a private hospital to get tested.

Checks revealed that she was COVID-19 positive and has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

In August, the actress had taken to the social media to say that her parents - father Santosh Bhatia, and mother Rajani Bhatia, have both tested positive for COVID-19, and that they were under medication.

The actress, renowned for her role in movies such as Devi and the Baahuhabli series, had then said that she had tested negative for the virus, and that she was taking all the necessary precautions.

Celebrities are among those who have been affected by the coronavirus, which has so far infected over 6.6 million people, and killed over 102,000, in India.

Among those who have been stricken with these disease prior were Bollywood star Amitabh Bachan, as well as his family, including daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai.

In Kollywood, Vijayakanth has caught the virus. Renowned crooner SP Balasubrahmanyam recently lost his life from complications arising from the disease.

COVID-19 infection and death tally currently stands at over 35.3 million, and more than one million, respectively.
