Despite being an active politician, Roja revisited the film industry now and then by starring in supporting roles. She also serves as one of the judges in a TV show.
The actress-turned-politician was elected as MLA after winning the 2014 and 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections in Nagari.
In a recent cabinet reshuffle, Roja has been appointed as a minister and was sworn in by Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan.
The people in her constituency in Nagari celebrated Roja's appointment as minister while celebrities congratulated the actress on social media. Following the news, Roja announced that she will be leaving the film and TV industry to devote her life for the good of people.
