Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently spoke about her experience working with Ajith in the film, "Kandukondain Kandukondain" and had nothing but nice things to say about him.

Speaking to a news media, she said that she is happy to see his growth in Kollywood. "He was so warm and an incredible professional. I'm so happy to see the kind of success and love he is enjoying from his audiences. He deserves it. Though I didn't have many scenes along with him, I met him on the sets," the daily quotes her as saying.

The actress has also mentioned about meeting Ajith's family during the shoots. "I also remember meeting his family during the making of "Kandukondein Kandukondein". If we ever cross paths again, I'd love to congratulate him on his deserved success," she added.

Though Aishwarya paired along with Mammooty and Abbas in the latter, she distinctly remembers Ajith, who played an aspiring filmmaker in the film

She also confirmed that she will be in Mani Ratnam's film, "Ponniyin Selvan", "I will confirm that I am doing the film," she said and adding, "I am on this journey with him, and it will be an honour to be a part of anything Mani chooses to do ever."

Like most of Mani Ratnam's projects, this film too is shrouded in secrecy, with very little known yet. "I don't think it will be fair to override Mani sir and speak about the project. He's my Guru. I started my first film ever ("Iruvar") with him, and even though there's such warmth and familiarity in our professional relationship today, it's his wish to share details with the world whenever he chooses to." It is rumoured that she will play the antagonist in the on-screen adaptation of the classic historical Tamil novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy.

Aishwarya Rai broke into films with Mani Ratnam's 1997 "Iruvar", and has gone on to star in his other projects, "Guru" and "Raavan". Apart from Mani Ratnam, she has teamed up with Shankar ("Jeans" and "Endhiran") and Rajeev Menon ("Kandukondein Kandukondein").
