Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, known as Superstar Rajinikanth, started his career as a bus conductor many decades ago and turned into one of biggest stars in the history of South Indian cinema. The once highest paid Kollywood actor has a huge fanbase across the world, and is loved by his fans for his humble and down to earth nature.

Aishwarya revealed that on this day, legendary late director K. Balachander gave Rajinikanth his iconic name and launched his highly successful movie career many decades ago when the actor was looking for cinema opportunities. Rajinikanth made his movie debut via a small role in Kamal Haasan starrer 'Apoorva Raagangal' in 1975.
