Leading Indian film music director AR Rahman's daughter Khatija Rahman took social media to announce her engagement with an entrepreneur cum audio engineer Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed that took place last month on her birthday.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the couple got engaged in a private ceremony in Chennai in the presence of their close family and friends.

Khatija is the eldest daughter of AR Rahman, and has two siblings - AR Ahmeen and Rahima Rahman. The former made her singing debut at the age of 14 via the hit song 'Pudhiya Manidha' in Enthiran, a movie directed by Shankar with Superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in the leading roles. Besides being a musician, she is also a philanthropist who advocates for peace and humanity.
