While Superstar fans are eagerly waiting for the release of his upcoming film 'Darbar' for Pongal, news of a Malaysian-based company DMY Creations suing the film's producers Lyca Productions for owing them money went viral.

DMY requested the ban of 'Darbar' releasing for Pongal and claimed Lyca owes them 23.7 crores (RM 13 million). Lyca denied the accusations and countered DMY with a petition stating the latter owes them 1.59 crores (RM 900,000) over the distribution of films 2.0, Vada Chennai, Maari 2 and Vantha Rajavaathaan Varuven.

According to Lyca, DMY is falsely accusing them of owing money as they didn't get the distribution rights for the films 'Kaappaan' and 'Darbar'.

However, the court reserved its judgement and didn't mention the next hearing date. As such, Darbar will be released on Jan 9 without any delay or ban.

Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the film stars Nayanthara, Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Yogi Babu, Nivetha Thomas, Jatin Sharma, and Nawab Shah in pivotal characters.
