Actor Vishnu Vishal has established himself as a fine performer in recent times. From his humble beginnings as a passionate sportsman in Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu to a curious cop unlocking mysteries in the famous crime thriller Ratsasan, Vishnu Vishal's growth as an actor has been tremendous.

However, the past 3 years had been difficult for the actor, both personally and professionally. His wife Rajini Nataraj, along with their new-born son separated from him in 2017 and the couple eventually got a divorce.

He experienced an accident during a shoot and suffered a major injury that confined him to a bed for 2 and a half months, losing many film opportunities with big directors and production companies in the period. The actor even gained 11 kg in the process.

Now, the actor has revealed that he battled depression and alcoholism post-divorce and his days after separating from his wife and son were filled with stress and sleeplessness.

"Night after night, I would drink till I broke down, which in turn, resulted in bad days," Vishnu revealed in a tell-all kind of post on Twitter. Here's the tweet:

The actor has since bounced back and is now looking fit and healthy after losing 16kg during his 6 months of training and practicing healthy lifestyle habits.

He has given up alcohol for good and does yoga. He has also cut ties with judgemental and negative people in his life, both offline and online. His support system is made up of his family members and a few close friends.

In the post, Vishnu stressed that 'Physical Health Always Improves Mental Health'.

Following the inspiring letter to his fans, celebrities and netizens are showering praises on the actor for his honesty and determination.

On the other hand, Vishnu recently confirmed his relationship with badminton player Jwala Gutta and the duo has been spotted frequently on each others' social media.

Good luck to Vishnu, and may the year 2020 turns out to be his best year yet.
