Thalapathy Vijay is one of the most celebrated Indian actors globally, and his recent movies have made it to the 100 crore clubs in a row.

At the beginning of his career, Vijay focused more on love stories, and 'Thulatha Manamum Thullum' was one of his biggest hit movies two decades ago.

He paired up with the ever-gorgeous Simran Bagga, and the movie even achieved a silver jubilee run.

But years after the movie hit a commercial success, the movie's director Ezhil revealed that he wrote the movie for comedian Vadivelu and not Vijay. Meanwhile, actress Rambha was the first choice to play 'Rukku'.

So the movie was supposed to have Vadivelu and Rambha in the lead and released with the title 'Rukminikage'. However, Vijay was not even the second choice for the movie as the director approached the late actor Murali to play 'Kutty'. But in the end, Vijay successfully bagged the role.
