Riya Sen is an actress cum model who started her career as a child artist. The actress who hails from a family full of stars is the daughter of Moon Moon Sen and granddaughter of Suchitra Sen.

After starting as a child artist in 1991, Riya debuted as a heroine in Bharathiraja's 'Taj Mahal' in 1999 with his son Manoj. Following that, the actress worked in many Hindu, Tamil, Bengali, and Malayalam movies.

Reflecting on her early experience with filmmaker Bharathirajaa, she recalls his strictness on set, even when she was just 16 years old. “Bharathirajaa treated me like an adult, and one day, he slapped me. I was shocked and upset, and I left the set in tears, returning to school. Later, he called me back, saying, ‘You are like my daughter. Come back.’ That moment made me realize that it was his way of teaching his actors. I don't regret that slap; in fact, I appreciate it. The work he brought out of me was exceptional, and I wouldn’t change that for anything.”

When asked if she would work with him again, she responded enthusiastically, “A hundred times. I would love to. In fact, I believe I would perform even better in his movies today than I did back then.”
