Movie making is not an easy task. Most directors who gave successful movies in their career would have struggled at one point when their movies failed to perform well upon release.

Kollywood's most famous directors such as Shankar, Mani Ratnam, and even K. Balachandar has directed movies that didn't fare well in the theaters.

However, in Kollywood, there are three directors who gave zero flop or average movies since the day they began directing. All their movies became superhit blockbusters:

# Vetrimaaran

Vetrimaaran started his directorial debut in 2007 via 'Polladhavan'. Since then, this director has given hit movies such as Adukalam, Visaranai, Vada Chennai, and Asuran. Four out of his total five movies had actor Dhanush in the lead.

# Atlee

Atlee made his movie debut via 'Raja Rani' which had Arya, Nayanthara, Jai and Nazriya in the lead. Following its success, the director gave three superhit movies - Theri, Mersal, and Bhigil - with Thalapathy Vijay in the lead

# Raghava Lawrence

Raghava Lawrence is a dance choreographer turned actor, who took up direction for his 'Kanchana' horror series. All four movies under the Kanchana belt fared very well in the theaters, and recently Lawrence became one of the highest-paid Kollywood directors.
