Actor Vikram played dual roles, the hero and villain, in 'Irumugan' directed by Anand Shankar. The 2016-film starred Nayanthara and Nithya Menon in lead roles.

The villain character played by Vikram was well-received among the fans. He's a mad-genius scientist who develops a drug called 'Speed' that can give superhuman abilities to a person for five minutes once inhaled.

Similar to Irumugan's story, an upcoming Hollywood film named 'Power Project' revolves around the protagonist who will become a superhero after using a tablet in the movie.

It has been reported that the story of the film is similar to that of Irumugan. Netizens believe that Thameens Films, the producer of Irumugan will be suing the Hollywood film soon.

According to The Times of India, the producer haven’t sold the remake rights to any global or regional languages.
