7G Rainbow Colony is one of Selvaraghavan's best works of all time.

The movie was received well upon its release and praised for its storyline and superhit songs.

Ravi Krishna and Sonia Agarwal played the lead role in the movie.

Previously the director revealed that he wanted Madhavan or Surya to play the lead role at first, before casting producer A.M Ratnam's son Ravi Krishna.

Now in a recent interview, the movie's heroine and Selvaraghavan's ex-wife Sonia Agarwal revealed that she was not the first choice for the role, but it was given to Subramaniapuram Swathy instead.

Sonia Agarwal was busy shooting for the movie 'Kovil', and Swathy took up the role and worked on the sets for several days.

However, she quit the movies several days later. Hence, Sonia Agarwal got the opportunity to play the lead in one of her best movies.
