Astro's Graphic Designer cum Editor Suthesan Jeyaramah has won the Asia Awards in recognition of his varied work in the industry.

The 35-year-old owner of Aum Design was recently informed of his win under the "Asia's Creative Awards", with the title "Asia's Outstanding Graphics Designer Award."

For the uninitiated, Asia Awards is presented by RULA Awards, appreciates and recognises individuals who excel in their respective fields.

According to Suthesan, the award came as a shock as it was his first after 11 years in the industry. He was asked by a friend to pass his details, after which he received a call from the award organizers for verification. He later received an email that he has won the award.

"As shocked as I was, I felt happy because finally, my late mum's dreams came true.

"This (award) actually makes me work harder (in the industry) and achieve more," he said.



The award presentation ceremony will take place at Hotel Breeze Residency in Trichy, India, on Sunday, June 19, 2022, but should Suthesan not make it to the event, the trophy and certificate will be couriered to him, he added.

Suthesan has more than 11 years of experience in the graphic design industry and has worked on countless local, as well as regional projects.

His projects for Singapore include designing posters for Adukku Veetu Annasamy Season 2, as well as Vadi Ready Vedi Season 2. In addition, he has also worked on Indian projects such as Thatpam Thavir movie, and a shortfilm called Lockdown.

Locally, Suthesan has offered his expertise in designing for Astro projects including Comedy Mandram, Sirikatheenga Please, and Deepavali Ragalaiz, among others.
