The five-decade friendship that Maestro Ilayaraja and legendary singer SP Bala shared gave us many beautiful songs. Despite their bitter differences, the legends continue to value their friendship and stayed close.

When SP Bala was admitted into a private hospital for showing mild COvid-19 symptoms, Ilayaraja released a video asking him to get well soon. However, much to our shock, SP Bala took his last breath yesterday at noon due to lung infection.

Unable to endure the pain of his close friend's demise, Ilayaraja released an emotional video. Take a look:

He also dedicated a special song in the memory of SP Bala.
