Saranya Sasi is a Malayalam film and TV actress who passed away at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. She was only 35.

The Tamil audience knew her from Vijay TV's famous serial 'Deivam Thantha Veedu' in which she played the titular role before being replaced by Meghna Vincent.

In May, the actress tested positive for COVID-19 and was hospitalised. Despite testing negative a few weeks after her admission, Saranya continued to stay at the hospital due to other respiratory complications. In the last weeks before her death, Saranya was in a critical condition.

For years, the actress had battled a brain tumor and reportedly underwent 11 surgeries that affected her health finances, and ultimately her career. But, Saranya never gave up and continued to be an inspiration for many cancer survivors.

During the lockdown, She even started a YouTube cooking channel during the lockdown in India.
