Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has seen a meteoric rise to stardom with only a few films under his belt. He began his career in cinema with the 2016 anthology film Aviyal, produced by Karthick Subbaraj. 'Maanagaram,' starring Sundeep Kishan, Sri, Regina Cassandra, Madhusudhan Rao, and Charle, was his debut feature film.

Following that, Lokesh directed Karthi in the commercially and critically acclaimed 2019 film 'Kaithi,' which catapulted his career and landed him his next feature film, 'Master,' starring Thalapathy Vijay. Lokesh struck gold again with 'Master,' which received widespread critical and audience acclaim.

Next is 'Vikram,' starring three acting powerhouses, Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil. Suriya has been roped in to play an extended cameo in the film, confirmed by Kamal and Lokesh. More interestingly, Vikram was claimed to be a part of a film franchise, dubbed 'Lokesh's Cinematic Universe' by the director's fans.

Fans couldn't help but notice some crossovers between Vikram and Kaithi when Vikram's trailer was released on May 15. Kaithi revolves around a newly-released ex-convict Dilli (Karthi), who sets out to meet his daughter for the first time. However, by a twist of fate, he gets caught in a drug raid planned by Inspector Bejoy (Narain).

In Vikram's trailer and promotional visuals, it's evident that Kamal has the moniker 'The Ghost.' In Kaithi, we encounter the name 'The Ghost' when Bejoy interacts with an informer in Kaithi.

In a recent interview, Ulaganayagan mentioned that Vikram is a lead-up to a 'Part 3' (anyone yelling in excitement?) and confirmed Suriya's cameo, who is speculated to be Arjun Das and Harish's boss!

Is Lokesh Kanagraj orchestrating a Kollywood multiverse? Guess we'll have to wait till June 3 to find out!
