Thalapathy Vijay, the son of filmmaker SA Chandrasekhar, is a phenomenal star in South India. He debuted as a hero in his father's film Naalaiya Theerpu; however, his acting career began much earlier as a child artist.

According to Vijay's father, SA Chandrasekhar, the actor made his first appearance as a child artiste in the 1984 film 'Vetri' for a salary of Rs 500 (RM 28.50). The sum was considerably high for a child star and was paid by veteran actor-producer P. S. Veerappa, who also acted in the film.

Today, Vijay has developed into a megastar with a reported salary of over Rs100 crore (RM 56 million) and a massive fanbase. Despite criticism for his film choices, Vijay's reputation as an actor continues to soar with each film!
