Prominent film director S. Shankar's son-in-law and four others have been booked under the POCSO (The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act for allegedly sexually harassing a minor.

The 16-year-old victim was allegedly sexually harassed during cricket coaching by the suspects and was threatened with dire consequences if she complained to the authorities.

The victim reportedly highlighted this issue to the cricket club management but later reached out to the Puducherry Child Welfare Committee (PCWC) after no action was taken against the accusers.

Now PCWC has complained to the Mettupalayam Police Station against coach Thamaraikannan and Jeyakumar, as well as Siechem Madurai Panthers Cricket Club's president Damodaran, his son Rohit and secretary Venkat.

Director Shankar's eldest daughter Aishwarya tied the knot with Rohit Damodaran in June this year.
