Actress Meera Chopra or famously known as Nila debuted in SJ Suryah's 'Anbae Aaruyire' in 2005. She appeared in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. Some of her notable roles are in 'Jambhavan' and 'Marudhamalai'.

In a shocking statement on her social media recently, the SJ Suryah heroine opened up about the struggles of being an actress in the cinema industry. She blames nepotism for the death of Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput.

In her post, she explained, "Lots of people including me, want to break the silence as to why actors commit suicide in this country, what brings them to the edge. How does the system work against you, and how some directors exploit you emotionally and ruthlessly. (the wise ones never do, and education plays a big part here) I've been there, and I still get subjected to it. But the point is how much support you get when you open up, and how many people stand with you. Has it stopped after Sushant's suicide?? NO... The fear of everything makes you take that step eventually. It's never about the work. There are plenty in this industry. It's about your self-respect, dignity, principles, and most of it, your peace!!"

The actress also added that the country has the weakest law system for abusers of any kind.

After the suicide of Sushant Singh, many celebrities in India have come forth with similar stories of abuse and bullying in the cine world. Nila's tweet has since gone viral and netizens are replying in support of the actress.
