The late VJ Chithra became the darling of the masses after playing the role of 'Mullai' in Pandian Stores serial. Her on-screen chemistry with Kumaran (playing the role of Kathir) was an instant hit among the TV audience.

Chithra quickly became an houshold name and many longed to find a wife or daughter-in-law like Mullai. After working hard for many years across several TV channels, Chithra finally tasted success only to leave it all too soon. The serial actress was found dead hanging from a ceiling fan at a hotel in Chennai.

Her unexpected demise put everyone into mourning. Pandian Stores cast who were heartbroken at the sudden loss had to resume their shoot without the late actress. Many of her fans vowed to never watch the series again since Chithra won't be playing Mullai.

However, life has to go on. Pandian Stores crew has found a new actress to replace Chitra as Mullai. It's none other than Bharathi Kannamma serial actress Kaavya Arivumani.

Kaavya has been slowly adjusting to her new role and admitted that she can never replace Chitra's place but will try her best to do justice to the Mullai character.

Lately, netizens have noted that Kathir and Mullai's romantic scenes are not being featured in the serial anymore In fact, Kumaran went missing for a while to shoot for a film.

In a recent interview, Kaavya was questioned about the romantic scenes between the favourite couple in Pandian Stores.

She revealed that the crew is slowly bringing in romantic scenes for the pair and fans can expect more soon.
