Yesteryears actress Amala Akkineni is making a comeback in Kollywood after 30 years.

She will be seen in Kanam, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual starring Sharwanand in the lead role, and Ritu Varma as the female lead.

The gorgeous Amala is said to be playing Sharwanand's mother in the movie, helmed by Shree Karthick.

Posting a still from the film's shoot on Twitter, Amala wrote: "Some cutting edge post-production taking place as we all await #Kanam /#okeokajeevitham. Truly a dream picture."
Amala was one of the leading heroines in the 1980s and starred opposite Superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, among others.

She was last seen in Tamil in Karpura Mullai (1991), before settling down with Telugu superstar Nagarjuna.
