Vijay or fondly known as Thalapathy is an enormous Kollywood actor with a huge fan following around the world. The tall and charming star is the powerhouse of box-office success and all his recent films- Bigil, Sarkar, and Mersal, grossed over Rs100 crore worldwide.

Back in 1999 when he was already a rising star, Vijay was first approached to play the lead in director Shankar's political action film 'Mudhalvan'. However, Thalapathy refused the role as he was not keen on playing a highly-political film at the age of 25.

Mudhalvan went on to become a blockbuster hit with Arjun as the hero and become a landmark film in his acting career. After passing the opportunity, the director and actor joined forces for the first time after 13 years via Bollywood remake 'Nanban'.

Now, after over two decades, a recent buzz is suggesting that director Shankar has approached Thalapathy to take on the lead role in 'Mudhalvan 2'. It's undeniable that Vijay's recent films are increasingly highlighting political issues in Tamil Nadu. Perhaps, Thalapathy might consider director Shankar's offer this time around.

Currently, Thalapathy is awaiting the release of his much-anticipated film 'Master' and Shankar is working on 'Indian 2' with Kamal Haasan.
