'Annaatthe,' starring Superstar Rajinikanth, was widely anticipated when it was released in theaters during Deepavali this year. However, the mass entertainer turned out to be yet another masala film with clichéd themes of sibling love and revenge.

Even though 'Annaatthe' was reportedly a mediocare box office hit that was slammed by the critics, Thalaivar Rajinikanth is pleased with how the film turned out.

The superstar recently paid Siruthai Siva, the director of Annaatthe, a visit and gave him a gold chain. Rajinikanth's gesture was said to have surprised and moved Siva and his family.

Some reports suggest Rajinikanth didn't pay heed to the critical reception and box office return of the film. In fact, he thought filmmaker Siva kept to his word and delivered on his commitment.
