Following the recognition of her talent, she appeared in a handful of films notably in Jayam. Soon, the actress moved on to become an anchor and a serial artist. She played the main lead in serials like Pirivom Santipom, Thayumanavan, Andal Azhagar, and Ganga.
As an anchor, she hosted a show called Beach Girls with VJ Bhavana. In the show, both of the anchors interviewed Tamil television industry celebrities and it turned out to be quite a hit.
In 2013, the star got married to Dr. Rohit and settled in Bangalore. While she continued to work in the entertainment biz, Kalyani was nowhere to be found after 2017.
