Actor Thavasi recently made the headlines after approaching Nadigar Sanggam for financial aid for his cancer treatment.

Netizens and his fellow Kollywood artists got shocked to see the current state of the actor who's lost weight and look skeletal.

Many Kollywood artists came to his rescue, and among the first to respond was Soori and Sivakarthikeyan who've acted with Thavasi in the movie 'Varuthapadatha Valibar Sanggam'.

It is reported that the actors donated Rs25,000 each, and Soori has promised to provide daily meals to the actor and his helper in the hospital.

Following that, actor Sivakarthikeyan and Simbu donated Rs1 lakh each.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth who contacted the actor assured that he'll recover soon and promised to take care of Thavasi's entire hospital and treatment costs.
