Netizens openly expressed their displeasure with the narrative and overall script on social media. Despite the bad reviews, the film continues to set box office records, as do all other Vijay's films.

Dhivyadharshini, a host and actress who had seen the film, tweeted that fans get the most bang for their buck because of Vijay's dancing in the 'Arabic Kuthu' song. She even stated that it was a complete package for Vijay's fans and called director Nelson Thalapathy's truest fan!
