Boney Kapoor is a film producer who was married to late actress Sridevi until she died in 2018. The producer hails from a family full of stars. His younger brothers Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor are actors while his son Arjun Kapoor (from his first marriage) and daughter Janhvi Kapoor are also rising stars in the film industry.

Boney Kapoor was introduced to Tamil cinema through his collaboration with Thala Ajith in Nerkonda Paarvai. He's also producing Ajith's upcoming film Valimai. Apart from films with Thala Ajith, Boney is producing a sports action film 'Maidaan' starring Ajay Devgan and Priyamani in lead roles.

According to Indiaglitz, the sets erected for the film cost him several crores of rupees. It was severely damaged in the recent Cyclone Tauktae that hit Mumbai. Previously, in 2020, the set was taken down after the announcement of the COVID-19 lockdown.

Talking about the set to a Bollywood entertainment site, he said, "What I am going through is horrible. I don’t want to be reminded of it. If I think about the pressure or feelings or loss, I will start crying. If I think about the budget overshooting and expenses piling up, I might go into depression. I don’t even feel like looking at the set right now.”

However, he was relieved and grateful that the workers who were on set when the powerful tropical cyclone struck didn't get hurt.

"I am hoping once everything comes back to normal, we will complete the rest of the film and hope the result makes the audience happy," he added.

It's a difficult time for the film fraternity as the pandemic continues to devastate India.
