Ajith Kumar and Shalini are Kollywood's power couple who've fallen in love with each other at the sets of 'Amarkalam' in the year 1999.

The couple got married the following year and has two adorable children.

In an old interview that resurfaced recently, Ajith revealed how he and Shalini were destined to be with each other.

"The producers wanted Shalini to play the female lead in Amarkalam, but she refused as she wanted to continue her studies. I called and tried to convince her as well, but she was stern in her decision. Only after months, she agreed to play the role," he revealed.

He further said that it was love at first sight for him. During the first shot, the blade accidentally cut Shalini's hand, and they fell in love with each other than onwards.
