The versatile actor ventured into direction with Pa Pandi. He also did a cameo role in the film. In 2018, it was reported that the actor-turned-director was directing another film with Nagarjuna, SJ Suryah and Aditi Rao in lead roles. However, the buzz died down when no announcements followed.
According to JFW, Dhanush is very much interested in directing films but has been getting acting opportunities with exciting talents.
"I have an exciting script that is so close to my heart and I want to do it soon. But, it is all about the right time. By God’s grace, I have been continuously getting opportunities to work with exciting talents. As an actor, I am able to work with directors like Mari Selvaraj, Karthik Subbaraj, Ram, and I recently met a couple of other young and talented filmmakers," he said.
The announcements of the projects will be made official soon, according to Dhanush.
"Fortunately, I have been getting nice opportunities as an actor and I want to capitalize on that. I don’t see myself directing any film for the next three years," he added.
The actor has been shooting in the US for the last four months for 'The Gray Man' directed by the Russo Brothers.
