Veteran Malayalam actor Indrans recently opened up about a lesser-known struggle he faced throughout his acting career, revealing that several actresses had turned down opportunities to star opposite him.
Speaking at the trailer launch of Chinna Chinna Aasai, the acclaimed actor candidly shared how such experiences had become a recurring part of his journey in cinema.
According to Indrans, there were numerous occasions when actresses initially considered for a film would lose interest after discovering that he had been cast as the lead actor.
Having encountered similar situations in the past, he admitted that he felt anxious when actress Madhubala, popularly known as Madhoo, was approached to play the female lead in Chinna Chinna Aasai.
"I kept waiting for confirmation of her shooting dates and would become nervous whenever there were changes to the schedule," he shared.
When Madhubala eventually joined the project, Indrans said he felt an overwhelming sense of relief and happiness.
Responding to his remarks, Madhubala explained that her decision to be part of the film was never based on conventional ideas of a hero and heroine pairing.
Instead, she was drawn to the story and the emotional depth of the characters.

"I never looked at the project through the usual hero-heroine lens," she said.
Expressing her admiration for Indrans as a performer, Madhubala described working alongside him as a rewarding experience.
She noted that the film revolves around two mature individuals who develop a unique emotional connection during an unexpected journey, making the screenplay and performances far more important than appearance or star status.
The event also saw Indrans sharing a humorous memory from his early days in the film industry.
He recalled how he once dreamt of acting opposite legendary Bollywood actress Hema Malini when he first entered cinema.
Although that dream never came true, he joked that fate had its own plans, eventually bringing him a heroine from the same family circle in the form of Madhubala.
