Legendary composer Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja has turned music teacher to young music prodigy Lydian Nadhaswaram.

Taking to Twitter, the 16-year-old wrote: "Dear all, I’m very happy to inform you all that my music teacher 'Maestro Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja uncle' said that I’m his First and one and only student in his experience... and he teaches me everyday with so much love and care...I need all your blessings too.Thank you one and all."
For the record, Lydian, who hails from Chennai, appeared on The World's Best on CBS and won a prize money of US$1 million, back in 2019.

He reportedly started playing the drums aged only two, and taught himself to play the piano when he was eight.

Despite his young age, Lydian is currently composing music for Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal's fantasy film Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure.

A lovely combination indeed. Let's hope that the legendary musician's experience and vast set of skills will help shape Lydian into a greater talent than he already is.
