What started as speculation surrounding Jayam Ravi and Aarti Ravi’s troubled marriage has now turned into one of the most talked-about controversies in Kollywood.
After remaining silent for months, Jayam Ravi finally addressed the ongoing issues during an emotional press meet in Chennai, where the actor spoke openly about the toll the controversy has taken on his personal and professional life.
Visibly emotional throughout the interaction, Ravi announced that he would temporarily step away from acting and delay the release of his films until his divorce proceedings and the alleged cyberbullying against him are resolved.
“I am unable to act peacefully anymore. I cannot tolerate this humiliation,” he reportedly said, adding that he wishes to return only after his personal life stabilises.
The actor’s statement came shortly after singer and therapist Kenisha publicly announced her separation from Ravi, distancing herself from the controversy surrounding his marriage.
During the press meet, Ravi claimed that his silence over the past two years had been misunderstood and manipulated by others.
“I am naturally a quiet person, but people took advantage of that silence,” he said, expressing disappointment over how public narratives had developed around him.
The actor also addressed allegations regarding his attitude towards women, saying the accusations deeply hurt him because he was raised to respect women both personally and professionally.
Ravi further became emotional while speaking about his children, alleging that he has been facing difficulties meeting them amid the ongoing family dispute.
One of the moments that triggered widespread attention online was when Ravi indirectly referred to a popular actress as a “three-letter actress” and “Idli actress,” accusing her of interfering in his family life.
