Veteran Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.

According to reports, the 61-year-old actor is set to fly to the US soon for medical treatment.

Sanjay was reportedly rushed to the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Saturday after he complaied of breathlessness.

Upon checks, his oxygen level was fluctuating between 90-92 percent, and he was made to undergo a COVID-19 test. However, he there was no presence of the virus and it was later found that he was suffering from stage four lung cancer.

He was discharged from the hospital on Monday.

On Tuesday, Sanjay tweeted an announcement that said he was taking a short break from work for some medical treatment.

"My family and friends are with me and I urge my wellwishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!" the message read.

Sanjay will be next seen in ‘KGF: Chapter 2’.

Sanjay is the son of late Bollywood actors Nargis and Sunil Dutt. His mother passed away in 1980 from pancreatic cancer while his first wife Richa Sharma succumbed to brain tumour in 1996.
