The South Indian film fraternity is still mourning the loss of its beloved choreographer cum actor Sivasankar who breathed his last at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad.

The dance master was diagnosed with Covid-19 which severely infected his lungs. Many fellow artists contributed to his treatment. However, the actor passed away several days back, leaving behind his wife and two sons.

In an old interview that's going viral after the master's death, director K.S Ravikumar revealed that Ajith's iconic role as a Bharathanatyam dancer in 'Varalaru' was inspired by the late master Sivasankar, and the character was also named after him.

"Ajith was reluctant to do the feminine role, but Sivasankar master guided him throughout the movie. He was the inspiration behind the character," said the director. Check out his interview here:
