'Kaatrukkenna Veli' is a popular Vijay TV serial that depicts the story of a young woman who goes against all odds to continue her studies. She joins a college run by professor Surya, and later fell in love with him.

Actress Priyanka Kumar who hails from Karnataka plays the lead role in the serial, a student who strives to achieve her dreams. Now, the actress has completed her studies in real life and graduated from the Vidhyaashram College in Mysore.
