The actor who was leading initially lost the seat in a small margin to BJP's Vanathi Sreenivasan.
Following his loss, Kamal Haasan congratulated the newly inaugurated Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and thanked everyone who helped him in his political journey.
