Goundamani is an evergreen comedian who ruled Kollywood in the 1980s and 1990s.

His on-screen antics, especially when paired with his 'partner in crime' Senthil, still elicit laughs, decades later, today.

However, the 83-year-old was last seen in 2016 Tamil film Vaaimai, and has kept away from the scene due to age factor.

Fans of the legendary comedian can now look forward to seeing him in action once again, as he is reported to be making a comeback with Sivakarthikeyan's 'Maaveeran'.

According to reports, Goundamani has been roped in to play a supporting role as Sivakarthikeyan's elder paternal uncle (periyappa) in the movie directed by Madonne Ashwin.

It is worth noting that Sivakarthikeyan had met Goundamani in August last year and conveyed his wish of acting with the latter.

The teaser trailer of the action drama Maaveran was recently released by Telugu actor Mahesh Babu. Bollywood actress Kiara Advani is reportedly playing the female lead, while Mysskin is said to play the antagonist.
