On the 24th of December, the legendary comedian and actor Vadivelu was hospitalised at a private hospital in Chennai after testing positive for coronavirus.

The comedian, who had just returned from London, tested positive for Covid-19 at the Chennai International Airport. According to the doctors who are treating him, the actor is recovering well and his health condition is steady.

Vadivelu was in London to compose music for Naai Sekar Returns, his first film since taking a sabbatical from the showbiz. Along with Vadivelu, the film's composer Santhosh Narayanan, director Suraaj, and producer Tamil Kumaran, the CEO of Lyca, were all in London for the music scoring session.

The film Naai Sekar Returns created a wave of excitement when the motion poster for the film was released and got 1.8 million views on Youtube in the first 24 hours.
