Remember the glamorous actress Mumtaj who rocked the 90s with her item numbers? She was particularly known for her song 'Kathipudi Kathipudi Da' with Ilayathalapathy Vijay in his hit film Kushi.

However, after a few flop projects and a movie with Simbu's father T Rajendar, the actress vanished from the cine industry. She resurfaced in 2018 as a participant of Bigg Boss season 2.

When asked why she made the decision to enter Bigg Boss villa, Mumtaj explained that she wanted to change people's perception about her and reveal her true self to her fans.

She assumed the role of a mother in the villa voluntarily and her initial dominance was not well-received by the audience. However, as the weeks passed, Mumtaj was highly praised for her patience and dressing sense throughout the season.

Her maturity and patience in dealing with fellow contestant Mahat's constant bullying were applauded even by the host, Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan.

She was in the house for 91 days and recently released an emotional video stating how much her days at Bigg Boss villa meant to her.

17.06.2018 is the day we were connected. You were the angels outside, whose prayers helped me inside, when I laughed you laughed, when I was upset you got upset, when I was targetted similarly you were also targetted, when I was in pain you felt the pain, finally when I came out and saw your love for me I was overwhelmed and humbled. I can't show my love the way you showed me but I will always be grateful to you. I love you loads and loads. God bless, remember me in your prayers.................. #Mumtaz #Mumtazfamily
