Ponniyin Selvan is one of the most anticipated epic films of Indian cinema helmed by renowned director Mani Ratnam. It's believed to be his dream project.

The film boasts a star-studded cast of Vikram, Amitabh Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Sarathkumar, Rahman, and Prathiban to name a few.

Recently, actor Rahman revealed that 75% of the shoot is over, creating ripples of excitement among fans. Actress Trisha has also been sharing location pictures on her social media account.

But director Mani Ratnam has now landed in trouble after an alleged mishap at the shooting location in Hyderabad. According to Indiaglitz, a horse died at the location during the shoot of a war sequence, following a head collision.

Following the news, PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) India filed a complaint against the director's production house Madras Talkies. The police have registered an FIR under two sections.

It's believed that the owner of the horse allowed the crew to use the horse despite its weakened and dehydrated state. The Animal Welfare Board of India has also written to the Telangana State Animal Welfare Board to run an inquiry.
