A political party has lodged a police complaint against actor Suriya's 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan' team.

This is over excerpts from the "Ullam Urugudhaya" song from the movie, deemed insulting to Tamil God Murugan, alleged the All India Netaji Party founder Rahul Gandhi who lodged the report with the Coimbatore police recently.

Rahul demanded the song to be removed from the film immediately, and that Suriya, director Pandiraj, music composer D Imman, as well as lyricist Yugabarathi to be dealt with according to the law.

Etharkkum Thunindhavan was released on March 10 after undergoing various obstacles due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the film has received positive reviews from the audience and critics alike.

This is not the first time Suriya has had police complaint lodged against him over the movie he has been involved in.

He also had reports lodged against him and even received death threats over last year's courtroom drama Jai Bhim, which he produced and starred in.
