Director Rajiv Menon released his best flick 'Kandukonden Kandukonden' back in the year 2000, with a multi starring cast featuring Mammooty, Ajith Kumar, Aishwarya Rai, Tabu and Abbas.

Now after 20 years, the director revealed that he approached actor Prashant who was at the top of his career than to play a struggling filmmaker in the movie.

However, the actor refused to pair-up with Tabu and requested to be paired-up with Aishwarya Rai instead - with whom he worked in his hit movie 'Jeans'.

Thus, the director approached Ajith who was bedridden due to a car accident. The director met Ajith at the hospital, and the actor was quite happy with the role which later became his most memorable on-screen performance.

Besides that, the director further revealed that Vikram lent his voice to Abbas in the movie, and regret of not giving him a role.
