Veteran actress Radikaa Sarathkumar has opened up about Suriya’s personal journey, recalling the struggles she witnessed the actor go through over the years. Speaking at the success meet of Vishwanath and Sons, in which she plays Suriya’s mother, Radikaa said her long association with the actor has allowed her to see a side of him that many may not be familiar with.
“I feel way more connected to him as a family member because I’ve seen his struggles and the pain he’s been through. A lot of people have faced challenges in movies, but real mental battles are on another level. Suriya overcame those struggles, and watching him closely, I genuinely feel proud when I see him,” she said.
Radikaa also described Suriya as someone who is private and does not easily express his feelings. According to her, the actor opens up only to a small circle of people, and she considers herself one of those he has been comfortable speaking with over the years.
“Suriya isn’t someone who talks a lot. He rarely opens up. He only really talks well with a select few people. I was one of the few close ones who talked to him a lot. I would tell him, don’t do it like this, do it like that,” she recalled.
Her comments offered a glimpse into the personal bond she shares with Suriya, while highlighting the challenges she says the actor has faced away from the public eye and his journey in overcoming them.
