Rajinikanth was one of the guests for the audio launch of KV Anand's Kaappaan" which was held in the city. The Superstar couldn't help praising Suriya for the actor and man that he has become today.

He praised Suriya for his controversial tweet on the education policy and he went on to describe his character.

"There was a time I wondered how Suriya is going to survive because he didn't seem to be comfortable with acting initially, on contrary to Karthi, who made heads turn with his debut vehicle "Paruthiveeran". But thanks to his dedication and constant effort, Suriya became a self-made actor. His films like "Nandha", "Pithamagan", "Kaaka Kaaka", "Ghajini", etc, were celebrated by people later."

Mohanlal chimed in with his experience with Suriya, "In my forty years film career, I haven't seen a dedicated and passionate actor like Suriya", said Mohanlal who also called the "Kaappaan" actor his darling.

The Malayalam star recently took to Twitter to share his experience of working with the legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan on his 18th death anniversary.

He tweeted, "I was blessed and honoured to share the screen with Shri.Shivaji Ganeshan sir. More than an actor he was like a family member to me. 18 years have passed still he remains in our hearts with all those fond memories. Prayers (sic)"

Mohanlal had acted together with Sivaji in Oru Yathramozhi" directed by Pratap K Pothen and played a top ranked politician in Suriya's "Kaappaan".

Director Shankar also shared his feelings about Suriya and said: "People say that Sivakumar is best when it comes to maintaining a young look but his son Suriya is getting younger day by day. The teaser looks grand and has all the elements for an action film. I've worked with KV Anand in the past I know that he is a hard-working monster".
