Kollywood's legendary actor Rajinikanth was recently conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, a recognition that's considered as the highest honour in the Indian entertainment industry.

Rajinikanth is among the very few Kollywood artists to receive the award and among the other recipients includes Nadigar Thilagam Shivaji Ganesan, LV Prasad and K Balachander.

Following the announcement, Rajinikanth took social media to thank the government and everyone who was a part of his cinema journey.

But that was not the only announcement that made Rajinikanth's fans excited.

Petta's director Karthik Subbaraj, who is also a Rajini's diehard fan, made a shocking announcement about releasing unseen footages from the movie as a dedication to superstar.
