Rajinikanth is among the very few Kollywood artists to receive the award and among the other recipients includes Nadigar Thilagam Shivaji Ganesan, LV Prasad and K Balachander.
Following the announcement, Rajinikanth took social media to thank the government and everyone who was a part of his cinema journey.
