On the occasion of SK's 37th birthday, let us look back at his journey into showbiz. SK was known for his standup comedy and mimicry in his college's cultural events while still studying Engineering at JJ College of Engineering and Technology.
SK's friends compelled him to participate in the 'Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru' auditions during a three-month hiatus after finishing his degree and waiting to start his MBA. He became the champion in the show.
Following his win, SK began hosting shows for Vijay TV and appeared in several short films before landing the part of a comedian in Aishwarya Rajinikanth's 'Moonu.'
As his name and market as a bankable actor grew, he made his debut as a hero in 'Marina' and went on to star in a string of commercially successful films. Ethir Neechal, Varuthapadaatha Valibar Sangam, Maan Karate, Rajini Murugan, Velaikaaran, and Doctor are some of his notable films.
SK would not have pursued a career in standup comedy if it hadn't been for his buddies who encouraged him to do so. SK wanted to be a cop like his father, but he eventually decided on pursuing Engineering.
Despite this, he made his way into Kollywood and is now one of the biggest commercial stars thanks to his friends, the actor's relentless hard work, and a stroke of luck!
